Shift of TRD digi time distribution: TB vs EbE

Description

I discovered that TRD digi time distribution is shifted left by ~55 ns in time-based simulation compared to the event-by-event mode (see attached).
Is it an expected feature? Which value is the right one?

The two distributions were produced using the same transport file, sis100_electron setup, CbmRoot 15c78e78, FairRoot 18.2.1, FairSoft jun19p2.

As far as I understand this should not affect the performance in the EbE case but the proper value is needed for tuning the time-based reconstruction.

What is your time reference in the time-based mode? Is it the time of the MC event?

Yes, it's the time of the matched MC event from the branch "MCEventList".
Using this time reference for all the other detectors (except MUCH which I have not looked at) produces distributions almost identical to those from EbE simulations.
