Development #296
closedDevelopment #295: STS NOV15
Provide new STS geometries v15a, v15b and v15c
Description
- new module/sensor arrangement (chage granularity in some regions);
- ladder support structures like attempted in v13z, but with up-to-date design and solving the technical problems encountered there (see issue #263)
- possibly a representation of the r/o card at the top and bottom of the ladders.
Take into account: #263, #264, #265, #266.
The problem with the creation macro (#283) is resolved.
Proceed step by step. Deliverables:- v15a: new module/sensor arrangement;
- v15b: with ladder support structures;
- v15c: with FEE material (target for new default in NOV15).

The STS v15a is now available in the trunk, introducing new module/sensor arrangement, fixing the ladder orientation and porting improvements from STS v13y.

Imported the carbon ladders from v13z to v15b. Found a lot of bugs in the v15x and v13x geometries:
For example the z position of the sensore is completely wrong. The z-alignment is not done based
on the position of the unit but based on the thickness of sensors on a ladder. Also the distance between
sensors of units in z is 0 mm in v13z and v15a but should be more than 10 mm, see attached screenshots!!

I have committed the STS geometries v15a with bare sensors and v15b with carbon support structure.
The v15a is now derived from v15b, omitting the carbon support structure. It is generated with the
create_STS_geometry_v15a.sh shell script. The v15b contains the following improvements:
- use carbon macaroni as ladder support - introduce a small gap between lowest sensor and carbon ladder - build small cones for the first 2 stations - within a station the ladders of adjacent units should not touch eachother - set gkLadderGapZ to 10 mm - for all ladders set an even number of ladder elements - z offset of cones to ladders should not be 0.3 by default, but 0.26 - within a station the ladders should be aligned in z, defined either by the unit or the ladder with most sensors - get rid of cone overlap in stations 7 and 8 - done by adapting rHole size
The STS geometry v15b should be the new default.

Geometry v15c (with R/O cards) cannot be delivered for NOV15. This task will be shifted to the next iteration of the STS geometry (v16). This issue is thus closed.

I have prepared a STS geometry version v15c, which is identical to v15b, except that it comes without cones,
